A night among stars: Houston's RCA Fabulous Fathers Priest Talent Show"

About two months ago my husband and I attended a Regina Caeli Academy (RCA) fundraiser gala event in Houston with the title "RCA Fabulous Fathers Priest Talent Shows". If you didn't know, RCA is an home schooled program for Catholic families. I must be crazy thinking about Catholic homeschool opportunities at this time since my daughter is only 2! Ha... yes probably. But I was mainly interested in the gala because Dr. Ray Guarendi, host of the radio show "The Doctor is In" on EWTN, also hosted the gala's show. If you have not heard this man, please tune on from 12-1pm weekdays. He is a laugh and a great counselor on marriage and parenting. But, anyways, that's why we went. To God's surprise we sat at the same table as the 4 seminarians that were going to present with their God-given talents. And were they talented!

One of them sung "Stars" from the motion picture Les Misérables, which was very moving and beautiful. The original song is sung by the character Javert, after Jean Valjean disappears from Javert by hiding in a convent in Paris. I love Philip Quast's version on YouTube here. It's a moving piece filled with determination for justice, completely in line with Javert's character who bends over backwards to trap this long escaped criminal, Jean Valjean, so he can be put behind bars. His desire for justice blinds his humanity to a point of cruel ambition. But, I'm not here to leave a book review ha, just my own thoughts...

He knows his way in the dark
Mine is the way of the Lord
Those who follow the path of the righteous
Shall have their reward

To say the least all of the seminarians were incredible, fiddling through the art of mathematics, enjoying the piano sounds, and finally admiring the multi talented artist and seminarian David Michael Moses, who hosts a Concert for Life each year to help the Houston Pregnancy Centers. Since it's coming up at the end of the summer I wanted to put it up here in case someone accidentally comes across it.

August 9th, 2018. Don't miss it. Let's come together and enjoy a beautiful night for LIFE. It is a free event and any donations will go towards mothers in need. Motherhood is very difficult alone, and all of the support a pregnant mother can get goes a long way. I copied the concert's description below.

Mother Mary protect all mothers, especially those who feel alone and misunderstood.

Join us for the 6th Annual Concert for Life! All funds go to Houston Pregnancy Help Centers, which offer support to women in difficult pregnancy situations. The show features original music from seminarian David Michael Moses and his all-seminarian band. It's a good time for the whole family! It is totally free, but thanks to our generous underwriters, money will automatically be donated for each person in attendance. Join us at 7:30pm on August 9th, 2018 at Revention Music Center to help babies and mothers in need!
